That is one angry redhead!
I was watching the NHL Stadium Series hockey games this weekend and evidently outdoor hockey in a warm climate (Los Angeles) can actually work. Suddenly this plot line doesn't seem so far-fetched!
Team Casey. This all seems a little unfair given nobody appears to care that Casey is being forced to spend time in close proximity with the guy who cheated on him – and that he came to support them at their wedding in spite of that. Not to mention that the news that Tom would be there was just sprung on him with no preamble to soften the blow.
I hope Tom is playing in the hockey game and Casey gets to body slam him multiple times!
Dougie is the one who insisted Casey had to attend the wedding, despite knowing how tough it was for Casey. Nice to see his support. Spence didn’t need to run interference. If anybody is making this the Casey show, it’s his tantrum. Not to say that Casey couldn’t have handled this more gracefully 😉
Found this webcomic a few days ago, and since Joey and Pete got together, this plot has been making me angry. Not the internet, bigoted kind of angry, but a good emotional anger 🙂 Casey is getting kicked around like crazy, and almost everyone involved is being a total jerk about it too (except Dougie). I understand it’s Spence’s wedding, but Casey’s crush just left him for a hockey obsessed stud, two of Casey’s oldest friends make Pete AND the arrogant cheater Tom their two best men while letting Casey know at possibly the worst possible time, Casey is then forced to attend this soap opera of a wedding almost against his will, and then the one good highlight of the poor guy’s weekend is downplayed so that one of the grooms can throw a hissy-fit that really didn’t need to happen. Either Casey’s being a lot more obnoxious about this in between strips than we’re seeing, or he needs to find himself some better friends because this is getting a bit ridiculous. On the other hand, this actually feels like a life instead of a narrative, so although the main character is getting metaphorically crucified, at least there’s a phenomenal plot rising out of it. Besides, this IS a story, and a generally light-hearted one at that, so at least we know there will be a happy(-ish?) ending coming for Casey sooner or later.
Casey at the Bat is a slice of life romantic comedy that follows the life of Casey Wilkes, a young gay man, building a new life for himself after the end of his first serious relationship. With the help of his friends and the local gay softball league, Casey valiantly stumbles his way through life, love, and sports!

I’m SURPRISED Spencer didn’t kicked Casey out of the wedding party all together! I wouldn’t blame Spencer one bit!

It also seems a little out of the blue.
Let’s chalk it up to pre-wedding jitters.
