catb 45: Favorite Shirts

Hey! 8 Big Panels (I'm exhausted)! The curse of the player shirt is one I know all too well. Over the years I have seen many a player fall to injury and teams collapse all while I’m showing my support by wearing a particular player’s shirt. As for the players referenced in the strip: Brandon Dubinsky suffered a lower-body injury during game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. He missed the entire Semifinal series and the first 4 games of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Rangers went on to lose the Conference Finals series to the New Jersey Devils in 6 games. Jeremy Lin had to have surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee. The injury caused him to miss the end of the Knicks regular season and the Eastern Division Quarter-finals playoff series against the Miami Heat. Future Hall of Fame closer Mariano Rivera tore his ACL while shagging fly balls in Kansas City in May. The injury cost him the entire 2012 season. Thankfully it’s not all all doom and gloom. I do have shirts for Derek Jeter & Eli Manning and they’re both doing fine.
