When I was putting this story together, I had a pretty fun idea planned for Matty. Eventually it was cut as the story moved in a different direction. I'm glad I was able to work in some of those elements in this week's comic, even if it was just a few. I'm gonna miss him when he and Tom return to Chicago. The first round of the NBA playoffs wrapped up this weekend and boy, there was some exciting games played. I got 2 series wrong as Washington beat Chicago and the Clippers beat Golden State. I'm kinda bummed about Golden State, with my Knicks out of the playoffs they were my favorite team.

    The boy has hidden depths. And his friends seem to not like Tom. Oh, Matty, are all geniuses as stupid as you?

      Aw, c’mon, cut Matty some slack! Young kids sometimes make poor choices. Having been the young kid myself I can vouch for that.

        I said it to him with all due love. As a matter of fact, I took Matty’s face in my hands and said, lovingly, “Are you in there?”

    Sounds like a hang-up.

    About the playoffs. My Blazers finally made it into the second round. They won’t get by the Spurs, though. But that Game 6 buzzer beater is still the best moment of the first round.

      That was an awesome game! With no Sonics I’ve sort of adopted the Blazers as my Western Conference team.
