catb 95: Pride

This weekend is Gay Pride in New York City and looking back it's been a pretty impressive year for the advancement of LGBT equality. I admit I was hoping the U.S. Supreme Court would issue their rulings on the DOMA & Prop 8 cases in time for my posting deadline, but that did not happen. Fingers crossed the rulings go our way! Last weekend I played in the annual Chelsea Challenge hockey tournament along with my buddies on the Pittsburgh Tigers team. We didn't fare as well as we would have liked, but we still had a fun time. The folks at the NYC Gay Hockey Association sure know how to put on a good tourney! If you'd like to play find the cartoonist in the Tigers team photo, you can do so by selecting this link.

  2. Congratulations. Equality can sound here, too.
And, yet, there is much work to be done. But celebrate, celebrate, CELEBRATE!

  3. For those who live in CA, congratulations on your victory! As a Texan, the fight continues in this blood red, ignorant state. We will join you soon.

    1. As a Californian, I say to you, best of luck.

      1. Thanks! My brothers & sisters are gonna need it! 🙂

    2. Aha… California and Texas! Nice to know where folks are from.

  4. Definitely a heady day. Much to celebrate, but still so much more to do. Should be an interesting next few years.
