catb 100: How Hard Can It Be?

100 Comics! Casey At The Bat hits it's first major milestone this week with Casey number 100! Not only that, but this week also marks the comic's second anniversary! A lot's happened since Casey woke up single in that first comic! I'd like to thank everyone for following along with us these last two years and everyone who's joined us along the way. Thanks for reading and thank you for your support! Also: you may have noticed that the blonde girl in the comic still doesn't have a name. I'm running a contest to find a name for her. Whoever comes up with the winning name gets a character named after then in a future Casey comic. Some good names have already come through, but there's still time to submit your own entry in the comments section. Better hurry tho - There's a good chance she's going to be addressed by name next week... in CATB 101 (gulp)!

  1. Good grief, Casey Wilkes! At least you’re not wearing your lucky jock! Hmm…maybe…. :-p

    1. …but those are his lucky boxers!

  2. What a beautiful homage. Sparky would be proud.

Oh, and Bigcorp? I think I love you right now.

    1. Thanks RW! I’m still trying to decide what BIG is an acronym for.

  3. Cassandra, Cass for short.

    1. Close – I did go for a hard K sound.

  4. Nice Boxers! The swirl above the head in the last panel, you nailed the Schulz parody perfect! Nice!

    1. Thanks Jack! I must have drawn that swirl a hundred times! Glad you liked it.

  5. Hahaha… Are you saying that catchers shouldn’t pitch?? 😉

Congratulations on the hundred strips! I’ve enjoyed this strip so much.
    Also, nice boxers there…

    1. Thanks Alex! As you can see, Casey is versatile. 😉

  6. “Patricia”, or “Patty” for short. Keeping in with the Peanuts theme.

    1. I actually had a very close friend named Patty that I worked with some years ago. She looked nothing like Kelly. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

  7. I’m guessing “Marcie Peppers”, you know, since the Peanuts theme, why not name her after Peppermint Patty and Marcie

    1. Congrats Freshmint! While I didn’t go with Marcie (although it was close) I did go with Peppers for the last name. The first name? Kelly.

  8. I’m happy to see folks are enjoying this week’s strip. I’ve wanted to work that classic Peanuts gag in for a while now. Also, you have no idea how much work went into those boxers!

  9. Still in line with the Peanuts theme, I’m liking “Sally Brown”… and they’re both blonde!

    1. What? Are you trying to get me sued? 😮
